The Crew releases 2024 preseason schedule

It’s been a short offseason for the Columbus Crew. The Black & Gold won MLS Cup on Dec. 9 and will be back on the training field next week.

The Crew released the club’s 2024 preseason schedule on Thursday afternoon ahead of players reporting back in Columbus over the weekend. The team will have training sessions at OhioHealth Performance Center, Port St. Lucie, Florida and Santa Barbara, California, before kicking off their title defense in late February.

Black & Gold players are set to arrive back at OHPC on Saturday, Jan. 20, as entrance physicals and tests begin. The team is then set to train in Columbus under the bubble at Historic Crew Stadium from Jan. 22-23. The club will travel south to Port St. Lucie, Florida, for training sessions from Jan. 23 through Feb. 2.

The Crew will return to Columbus to train back at OHPC from Feb. 3 to Feb. 7 as part of a two-leg training, with the second leg going from Feb. 7 to Feb. 17 in Santa Barbara, California.

Columbus’ final portion of the preseason will be back at OHPC leading into preparations for the 2024 MLS home opener against Atlanta United on Feb. 24. The Crew bested the Five Stripes in the first round of the 2023 MLS Cup playoffs en route to winning the club’s third MLS Cup in franchise history.

February 3-7: Training in Columbus

February 7-17: Training in Santa Barbara, California

  1. It seems like the season just ended. Have you heard how the team is feeling (fitness, injury, fatigue)? I’m concerned about the short turnaround.
