Rudy Camacho captures MLS Team of the Matchday honors

Following a defeat at the hands of its rival FC Cincinnati, the Columbus Crew rebounded to claim two wins on the road to right the ship in MLS competition. The Black & Gold put its woes behind them to outscore opponents by a 6-2 margin this past week, and limiting the opposition to just eight shots on target across two games. One of the main cogs of the Crew defense was center back Rudy Camacho.

The 33-year-old was recognized by Major League Soccer earning a spot on its Team of the Matchweek.

Camacho started in contests against CF Montreal and Chicago, going the distance in both matches. The French international averaged a completion percentage of 88.35% for the week and helped the Columbus defense remain steadfast and protect goalkeeper Patrick Schulte.

Thus far this season he has featured in 12 contests across all competitions and has maintained a strong disciplinary record with just two yellow cards. One coming against Montreal and the other coming against Cincinnati. Camacho looks to continue his strong run of form this week when Columbus travels to Central Florida for a date with Orlando City.
